The 2024 CES Fair date is set - Saturday, May 4 - and the planning committee has already started on the mountain of tasks needed to pull off this amazing event. But they are in need of additional planning volunteers! Our largest community event of the year does not happen without the help of every CES family, so why not be a part of it from the beginning?!

Help with snacks for the staff lounge! You have three options: provide the snacks (via the Amazon wish list or purchase elsewhere), sign up to physically stock the snacks, or do both. If you’re regularly at the school with a few minutes to spare, send an email to pta@carrboropta.org and we’ll get you into the stocking rotation.

¡Ayuda con refrigerios para la sala del personal! Tienes tres opciones: proporcionar los refrigerios (a través de la lista de deseos de Amazon o comprarlos en otro lugar), registrarte para ir a la sala de profesores y rellenar lo que falte o hacer ambas cosas. To volunteer in the classroom at CES or to chaperone field trips for your Cub, you should first go through the CHCCS volunteer portal to be approved. CHCCS will run a background check, which will be valid for two years. Even if your Cub does not have a field trip announced yet, please consider going ahead and submitting for approval. This will make it easier for teachers to arrange for chaperones when it is field trip time for your Cub.

Para ser voluntario en el aula de CES o acompañar a sus Cachorros en las excursiones, primero debe visitar el portal de voluntariado de CHCCS para ser aprobado. CHCCS realizará una verificación de antecedentes, que será válida por dos años. Incluso si su Cub aún no tiene una excursión anunciada, considere enviar su solicitud para su aprobación. Helping Cubs is the PTA's family support fund. Working through Katie Harrison, the CES family specialist, families in need are able to receive help with expenses ranging from eyeglasses and backpacks to emergency utility and food assistance. Ways to help include joining the Helping Cubs email list and making a monetary donation. If your family needs assistance, email Ms Harrison. All assistance requests are kept confidential. Please note that your donations to this fund are tax deductible. Contact either pta@carrboropta.org or treasurer@carrboropta.org for a tax receipt.

Helping Cubs es el fondo de apoyo familiar de la PTA. The end-of-year holidays are approaching. If you would like to show appreciation to your Cub's teachers but are unsure what to do, you are encouraged to donate to the PTA Whole School Gift Giving (WSGG) fund. This fund allows the PTA to gift all CES staff members an equal amount at the end of the school year. In 2022-2023, the generous CES community met the ambitious PTA goal of $150 per full time staff member ($75 per part time), a total ask of $12,500. The PTA has set the same goal this year, and no amount is too small. Donations can be made here. Thank you for supporting all CES staff.
